UVine spiral staircase is formed by interlocking U and V shaped box profiles in an alternating fashion. This way, the staircase becomes self-supporting since it does not need a center pole or perimeter support. The project is a series of experiments with the aim of humanizing concrete. Throughout the experiments, the designer is focusing on the possibilities of overcoming the negative stereotypes associated with concrete and how to create a new, more pleasant and softer look for a generally industrial material. Another aim is to offer alternatives of innovative concrete wall coverings with new visual experience for interior designers.
